[Ceremony]Temple ceremony for children's growth

Children Parade 練稚児供養 12th May 2019, Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji temple.

From 10:30am, Children Parade

From 11:30am, Ceremony at main hall of Heikenji temple


This parade and ceremony will be conducted for celebrating the birth of Kobo Daishi, principal object of Heikenji temple, whose birthday is June, 774. To avoid rainy season, Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji temple usually do this ceremony on May.

Children who joined this ceremony will grow up in good health. About 1000 children wearing special uniform will parade along main road from Kawasaki Daishi station to temple.
Children put their small hands together to receive the Shusuikaji offering from our head priest.

If you will be around Tokyo, especially Haneda- Shinagawa, and Yokohama area (including Haneda airport flyover) , and if you want to local traditional customs, you should to visit Kawasaki Daishi area.


By Train (Via Keikyu Line)From Haneda Airport International Terminal Station

Take the Keikyu Line (Train bound for Yokohama and Zushi area) .

Get off Keikyu Kawasaki Station.And transfer to the Keikyu Daishi Line.The number of platform is 5 or 6.

The 3rd station is Kawasaki Daishi station. Get off here,It is about eight-minute walk from the station.
