Hatsumode is Japanese Newyear customs to visit temple and shrine on the first, second, or third day of the year as most are off work on those days. Generally, wishes for the new year are made, new omamori (charms or amulets) are bought, and the old ones are returned to the shrine so they can be burned. There are often long lines at major shrines and temples throughout Japan.

About 3million people visit on  first 3 days of January and the atmosphere of town changed perfectly.

2. <Activity>Praying marriage,Visit Statue Bato Kannon(Hayagriva).

The statue was first put here about 400 years ago. The latticework of this small Buddhist statue hall was used to hitch horses while visitors prayed at Heikenji in the Edo era. 

Evenstrong horses that tried to run away, once hitched, calmed down. People thought this statue must have some kind of power, and now it is believed to be a "place with spiritual energy"

marriage might come true!


3. <Activity>Baking Sembei Activity

Visit Raijindo sembei store. You can try various flavors of sembei.

Senbei (煎餅,alternatively spelled sembei) is a type of Japanese rice cracker. They come in

various shapes, sizes, and flavors, usually savory but sometimes sweet. Senbei are often eaten with green tea as a casual snack and offered to visiting house guests as a courtesy refreshment.


Salt and soy sauce flavors are famous, but there are many more including black pepper, ginger, shrimp, natto on cheese, hot pepper, sugared and more available. You can find your favorite one!

4. <Tourism Attraction> Visit Heikenji Temple and see Fire ceremony, and try Omikuji the business, and health in addition to longevity.

Ogoma is a solemn religious ceremony supported by deep philosophical meaning and the esoteric Buddhist .


The Japanese word "Goma" is read "Homa" in Sanskrit, and means "to burn." It signifies that the fire of Buddha's wisdom is used to completely burn up worldly desire, the source of suffering.

What is Omikuji?

Literally "sacred lot", these are usually received by making a small offering (generally a five-yen coin as it is considered good luck) and randomly choosing one from a box, hoping for the resulting fortune to be good.

The o-mikuji predicts the person's chances of his or her hopes coming true, of finding a good match, or

generally matters of health, fortune, life, etc. When the prediction is bad, it is a custom to fold up the strip of paper and attach it to a pine tree or a wall of metal wires alongside other bad fortunes in the temple or shrine grounds.

4.<Tourism Attraction>Visit Wakamiya Shrine complex


This shrine complex contains several places of worship, including the Kanayama, Fujinomori Inari, and

Itsukushima Shrines. The best-known event here is the Kanamara Matsuri, also known as the Penis Festival, which takes place every spring.

Kanayama shrine provides the blessings of business prosperity, fertility, safe and easy delivery, marriage,

and marital harmony. In recent years, the Kanamara Matsuri AKA the Utamaro Festival has become internationally famous as a festival for warding off AIDS as well.
